The Free Technologies Communities Meetups, or “Encontro de Comunidades de Tecnologias Livres”, in Portuguese (ECTL for short), are a series of meetups organized by multiple communities around Open Source Hardware, Open Source Software, Open Data, and Free Knowledge, in Portugal
At 17 of May the world will celebrate the Internet Day, so this month we’ll focus on networking and internet freedom.
Come join us to explore why having the freedom to choose your own router matters — not just for techies, but for everyone who uses the internet. We’ll talk about digital rights, fair internet access, and how we can work together for a more open and secure online world.
We’ll also get hands-on with OpenWrt, learning how to set up a private WiFi network, connect to the internet through your phone as backup, and boost security with a VPN.
